You know you've accomplished something truly strange and beautiful when an artistic genius like on the order of Jim Woodring calls your work, "aggressively weird, deeply compelling and entirely satisfying."

Toronto-based cartoonist Nathan Jurevicius jack-packs a lot of otherworldly epic weirdness into 57 pages. Ostensibly a kids book, Junction follows a young member of the Face Changers clan as he takes a long journey to the top of a mountain in order to jumpstart swirling psychedelic winds that transform the things they touch.

Jurevicius's work is bright and beautiful, borrowing touches of biological illustration and Escher-esque architecture, couched in a heavily cross-hatched cartooning style unique his own. Below we present an exclusive preview of some of the book's stunning pages.

Junction is due out in September 2015 from Koyama Press, with the aforementioned Woodring quote gracing its back cover.
