Rap artist Nicki Minaj will soon be invading the mobile gaming world as a new mobile gaming app inspired by the artist is set to launch in mid-2016.

The new celebrity-inspired game is reportedly being developed by the San Francisco-based game developer Glu Mobile, the same company that is behind the highly successful Kim Kardashian: Hollywood. According to the company, the game will feature Nicki's name, her likeness as well as her voice. It will also feature her creative direction in order to give her millions of fans an authentic gaming experience.

While the new game has no title yet, it is confirmed to release in 2016.

"I am thrilled to welcome the undisputed queen of hip-hop, Nicki Minaj, to Glu's growing list of celebrity partners," said Glu Chairman and CEO Niccolo de Masi. "Nicki brings to Glu her audience of over 100 million social followers and a new music category."

Nicki is the latest celebrity that is added to Glu's growing list of celebrity-inspired gaming collaborations. The company sees the artist's strong social following as an inspiration to come up with another smash hit game following the 2014 release of Kim Kardashian: Hollywood. The title became a surprise breakout hit after amassing over $74 million since its release.

Apart from her strong social presence, Nicki Minaj has also earned a number of recognitions since the release of her debut studio album in 2010. These include four American Music Awards, four Billboard Music Awards, eight BET Awards, two MTV Music Video Awards, and more.

Nicki Minaj is also a name to reckon with when it comes to premium consumer products, such as electronics and cosmetics. She has even released her own line of fashion clothing and her own brand of fragrance.

Nicki has also appeared in the popular reality show American Idol and in the feature movie The Other Woman. Fans will see her again in the soon-to-be-released movie titled Barbershop 3, where she is said to appear in a starring role.

Nicki released The Pinkprint in 2014, her third album so far, which included a number of chart-topping hits.

Other celebrities who will also have their own mobile gaming app include Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Kendall & Kylie Jenner, Demi Lovato and Jason Statham.

"We look forward to combining Nicki's distinctive style and massive global appeal with Glu's celebrity social gaming expertise," added Glu.
