With the upcoming release of the live-action film Attack on Titan set for this fall, die-hard fans of the show anxiously await the movie's official trailers online. The latest clip, which debuted on Thursday, lets audiences catch a further glimpse of the story's post-apocalyptic world.

The trailer begins with one of the lead characters Eren Jaeger (Haruma Miura), watching in horror as a group of Titans proceeds to destroy a nearby building.

The scenes then shift to show the scale of the Titans' attack on the town that kills dozens of its inhabitants. Despite the best efforts of the local military unit, the gigantic creatures manage to decimate a large portion of the district where the main characters Jaeger, Mikasa Ackerman (Kiko Mizuhara) and Armin Arlert (Kanata Hongō) are located.

Members of the Survey Corps, the branch of the military responsible for direct combat against the Titans, launch a counterattack on the giants using their signature grappling hooks to prevent further loss of lives. They are successful in bringing down several of the Titans but many of Survey Corps soldiers are eaten alive by the creatures.

The trailer reaches its climax as it shows scenes where a mysterious Titan rampages on the battlefield, attacking it fellow giants, while another Titan, with its body covered in flames, proceeds to attack the soldiers of the Survey Corps.

The Attack on Titan live-action film is set to be released in two parts, with the first one already premiering in the United States on July 14 and Japan on August 1. The film will officially hit theaters on August 4 in Canada, August 12 to 13 in the rest of Asia and August 25 in Australia.

Funimation, the film and television company that has brought the latest Dragon Ball Z films to the United States, will distribute both parts of the Attack on Titan film to theaters in the country.

Attack on Titan is based on massively popular manga and anime of the same name. The main story revolves around the lives of three characters, Jaeger, his younger Ackerman and their childhood friend Arlert, as they try to survive in a world under constant threat of the Titans' attack.
