With the Season 2 wrap-up of the now-derided True Detective – which contained a somewhat befuddling plot and was met with pretty poor reviews – we can all conclude that anything and/or everything could only improve it, right? How about some intergalactic Star Wars mojo for good measure?

Titled True Star Wars, the fake YouTube trailer meshes the first six episodes of the Star Wars franchise with the True Detective theme song from Season 1, "Far From Any Road" by The Handsome Family. Instead of the smoky silhouettes of Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, the superimposed images that gave a stylistic impression in the opening credits for True Detective's premiere season are those of the Death Star, Boba Fett, myriad X-Wings and, thankfully, this:

As excellent as this mashup trailer is, I'm afraid it still won't account for the number of hours I spent watching Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn sit in bars and brood about a plethora of daddy issues and an ill-fated trip to Venezuela while a Sad Girl With a Guitar balladeered in the background. More Rust and Marty, please.
