The launch of the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is just around the corner, and word has it they're both packing in 3,000 mAh batteries.

The rumor mill is always busy churning in anticipation of big product launches and the next-generation Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus are no exception. The two devices have leaked on several occasions so far, painting a pretty clear picture of what to expect, and more pieces of the puzzle are coming to the surface.

Samsung has a big Unpacked event scheduled for Aug. 13 in New York, where it is expected to take the wraps off the two new devices. The Galaxy Note 5 will launch as the latest member of the popular Galaxy Note range of phablets, while the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, as the name itself suggests, will arrive as a larger variant of the dual-edge Galaxy S6 Edge.

Both devices are rumored to feature 5.7-inch displays with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, albeit some reports suggested the S6 Edge Plus might sport a 5.5-inch screen. At the same time, both phablets are expected to rock a hefty 4GB of RAM and pack Samsung's in-house Exynos 7420 processor under the hood, and both should come running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box.

Trusted tipster Evan Blass, more commonly known as @evleaks, now adds more fuel to the fire. According to the leaker, the next-generation Samsung Galaxy Note, as well as the supersized Galaxy S6 Edge variant, will boast 3,000 mAh batteries to keep them up and running.

This falls in line with previous rumors, lending extra credibility to the claim. If this turns out to be accurate, it means the Galaxy Note 5 will have a smaller battery compared to its predecessor, while the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will have a larger battery compared to the existing Galaxy S6 Edge.

The tipster further notes that the battery unit will last for 336 hours of standby and for up to 21 hours of talk time.

Previous rumors, meanwhile, also suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will go up for pre-order on Aug. 21 and start shipping in early September.

It all remains unconfirmed at this point, but the big unveiling is just around the corner and we'll soon get the official scoop straight from the source. In the meantime, take all leaks and rumors with a grain of salt.
