Welcome to the Empire of Vetrall. This nonlinear, sandbox world will be yours to explore in Seven.

Seven is being made by Fool's Theory, a development studio made up of game industry veterans who've worked on many games that include The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, along with partner studio IMGN.PRO. It's a departure from Witcher 3, technology-wise, but Witcher players may notice some similarities in its RPG structure, and how it hinges on branching, moral choices that always have consequences.

Vetrall is presented in an isometric view, with gameplay based on parkour climbing both horizontally and vertically — at any height. You play as "a lone traveler" who roams the very post-apocalyptic landscape, a place of great danger and harsh cruelty. The story goes that "the end of the world" occurred centuries ago, but the remnants of mankind eventually recovered to build a new world that's very different from the one we know.

This world is a unique mixture of a Dark Ages-type society and leftover "advanced technology" that's beyond what's available to us today. Ancient cities that were once buried are finding their way to the surface again, as a side effect of new technological advancements. Your protagonist character is a scavenger, surviving off of the goods he finds in these old cities. He's also curious about the world before the apocalypse, and what caused that cataclysm in the first place, and believes he can find the answers in these un-buried cities.

Too bad the corrupt government of Vetrall, lead by one Emperor Drugun, has made it illegal to enter the ancient cities and steal from them.

That's about all we know about Seven at the moment, along with the concept art below, but we'll be watching its development with keen interest. Presumably the game is being made with PC players in mind, but hopefully Fool's Theory and IMGN.PRO will be able to port it to consoles and mobile devices as well.
