A new report indicates that Samsung will be releasing a Galaxy Note 5 Active in November. The rugged phablet is expected to sport a 4,100 mAh battery and be offered exclusively from AT&T.

Samsung just released the latest version of its flagship Galaxy Note series, the Galaxy Note 5. The company has continued its new fondness for metal and glass displayed in the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge smartphones and changed design directions from the previous Note models, while including an ejectable S Pen stylus.

Many Note devotees are unhappy with the move, which eliminated two of their favorite elements of the previous Notes, the removable battery and microSD expansion slot. Now, a new report indicates that Samsung will be introducing an "Active" version of the phone in November, and although there's no indication that the battery will be removable, it will be a huge 4,100 mAh, a significant upgrade from the 3,000 mAh battery included in the Note 5.

Prior to the release and official spec confirmation, the Note 5 was rumored to be including a battery of this size, so its inclusion in the Note 5 Active makes sense. The phablet will also reportedly feature IP68 waterproofing and will drop the glass and metal for a more durable plastic chassis like the Galaxy S6 Active that was released in June.

Samsung has been releasing Active versions of its flagship S smartphone series for years now. The company also released a separate "Sport " version of the Galaxy S5, exclusively available on Sprint, which differed slightly in design from the Galaxy S5 Active, which was an AT&T exclusive. This would be the first time, however, that Samsung has introduced an Active version to its popular Note phablet line.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Active is reportedly set to be released in week 46 of 2015, which begins on November 8, as an exclusive to AT&T. Do you plan on purchasing a Galaxy Note 5 Active when it is released? Please let us know in the comments below.
