Marvel revealed on Friday it's plans to release variant covers to its popular comic titles that feature fans in cosplay.

While cosplayers are frequently seen at conventions, they are now bringing their favorite comic book characters to life in a brand-new way.

The cosplayers grace the covers of more than 20 Marvel titles, which include them in costume as Ant-Man, Spider-Gwen, Doctor Strange, Daredevil, Iron Man, Captain America and more.

"Cosplayers are taking over," says David Gabriel, Marvel's senior vice president of sales and marketing. "Each convention I go to, it seems like there are more and more fans dressing up like their favorite Marvel characters. These homemade, hand-crafted costumes are so elaborate, it looks like they leapt off the comic page. The Cosplay Variant initiative is our way of supporting a community that supports us."

The titles and their associated cosplayers are as follows:
