Logic Pro X, Apple's professional-level music creation software has just received a significant update to take it to version 10.2.

The update adds the popular Alchemy synthesizer into the program, while also providing users with the option for a more seamless way to share their work using the Connect feature of Apple Music.

This marks the second significant update to Logic Pro X within the year. Similar to the previous update, it is completely free for all existing owners of the software. Users looking to acquire the software will have to pay the purchase price of $199.

The Alchemy synthesizer is a definite upgrade for Logic Pro X, as it will help casual users in finding new samples, while also providing professional users with more sophisticated ways in crafting their perfect sounds.

Alchemy packs multiply synthesis engines with advanced morph features to allow users to create the exact sound that they want or to keep making adjustments until an even better sound than initially targeted is created.

Users will also be given access to a feature named Transform Pad which allows users to pick out a maximum of eight samples and then load the chosen samples onto an onscreen control, wherein users can then reshape the sounds through moving a cursor on the screen.

Apple is also looking to make the tool more accessible to users that are not fully knowledgeable in synth techniques, simplifying controls through the introduction of several performance controls within the version 10.2 update.

Also included are new Force Touch controls that will be compatible with MacBooks, the ability to make custom icons for tracks and access to more MIDI clock options for sync improvement with external controllers.

Users can also now download content worth 14GB to be used with Logic Pro X, with the content including thousands of sounds that, according to Apple, is heavily aimed towards users creating trap, hi-hop and EDM.

In addition to the new synth tools, Apple is making a closer tie-in between Logic Pro X 10.2 and Apple Music, allowing the artists to share what they are currently working on and their finished tracks directly to their fans through Apple Music's Connect feature.
