The highly anticipated and ultrasecure Turing Phone is finally set for a commercial release, with the company revealing that it will be released on Dec. 18 of this year.

That happens to be the same day of the launch of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and this is reportedly no coincidence.

The device itself has a 5.5-inch, 1080p display, a 13 MP camera, an 8 MP front-facing camera, 3 GB of RAM, and a 3,000 mAh battery.

The physical specs aren't the main draw of the phone, however. Instead, the device's selling point is its heightened security features. These features are highlighted by the lack of USB port or SD card slot, removing the possibility that files could physically be moved to the device. Of course, wireless connections could still bring malware to the device, but the company says that it provides end-to-end authentication, which should help avoid infections over wireless connections.

Another big selling point for the Turing Phone is its design. It's got an interesting design – the industrial look combined with the fact that it doesn't have a USB port or even a headphone jack – and it is made from a material called liquidmorphium, which is an alloy consisting of zirconium, copper, aluminum, silver and nickel that is touted as stronger than titanium.

The device will cost $610 for the 16 GB version, $740 for the 32 GB version and $870 for the 128 GB version. The company has also announced a Dark Wyvern special edition, which will cost $999 and comes with 128 GB of storage. There is even a "super-special edition" called the "Dark Wyvern Glaedr" edition, which will cost $1,299. Only 3,000 of these will be made.
