In a bid to support more platforms and devices, Sling TV - the Dish Network's live TV service aimed at cord cutters - is now available on Amazon's current generation Fire HDX and HD tablets.

This means Amazon Fire customers can now watch Sling TV on three different Amazon Fire devices, including Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, as well as Fire HD and HDX tablets, Sling TV's official website announces in a statement shared on Monday.

"Available now, the Sling TV app can be downloaded from the Amazon Appstore onto your Amazon Fire HD or HDX tablet. Get ready to bring your favorite live and on-demand programming with you, wherever you and your tablet may go," said Glenn Eisen, Chief Marketing Officer of Sling TV. "For a limited time, new Sling TV customers with an Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, Fire HDX 7, Fire HD 7 or Fire HD 6 tablet can now try Sling TV free for 14 days."

To access the two-week free trial, new Sling TV customers should download the Sling TV application from the Amazon Appstore on their Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, Fire HDX 7, Fire HD 7 or Fire HD 6 tablet. After the trial period, new Sling TV customers who will subscribe will then be charged through their credit cards, unless they cancel.

To sweeten the offer, Sling TV reveals it is bringing its selection of 20-plus live cable stations - including ESPN, ESPN2, AMC, A&E, TNT, History, H2, TBS, Food Network, HGTV, Travel Channel, IFC, El Rey, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, ABC Family, Disney Channel, CNN, Bloomberg TV, Lifetime, and Galavisión - to the subscriber's Amazon device.

Customers who wish to add HBO on their channel lineup should pay an additional $15 a month. They may also want to avail of the add-on packs, for $5 a month, and they can enjoy "Kids Extra," "Sports Extra," as well as "World News Extra."

Apart from Amazon devices, Sling TV can also be streamed through other platforms and devices, including Google's Nexus Player, current-generation Roku players and Roku TV models, Xbox One, iOS and Android devices, Mac and PC.

"Amazon customers now have more ways to access the best live and on-demand content TV has to offer today," said Roger Lynch, Sling TV CEO in a statement. "With the introduction of Sling TV on Amazon Fire HD and HDX tablets, millions of Amazon customers can now access their entertainment in and outside of the home."

Meanwhile, based on reports, Dish Network has given some insight into how large the Sling TV service had grown during last month's earnings. By March 2015, the company said, the Internet-based live TV service, Sling TV, had reached 169,000 subscribers. It did not say though how many it had by the end of June. However, outside estimates pegged it at having around 250,000.

To date, the app has gained three stars after 1,743 reviews.
