It's old news that the Atlanta-based Terrapin Beer Co. teamed up with the creators of The Walking Dead to create a custom beer inspired by the show, but the last remaining piece of the puzzle — the beer's release date — is brand-spanking new, and here it is: October 5, 2015.

Named "The Walking Dead Blood Orange IPA," the zombie-inspired booze will come in 22 oz bottles.

Terrapin was an easy pick to brew the premier beer for AMC's zombie apocalypse horror series — their beer has been featured in past seasons of the show. In addition to this, BeerPulse reports that the show also has strong ties to Georgia, where, as mentioned before in this article, the beer company is based.

Tech Times' Steven Schneider also noted that "this isn't the first beer to be inspired by AMC's zombie series: a brew called the Dock Street Walker actually included brains. Thankfully, it doesn't look like Terrapin's brew will be quite as gross." Terrapin's beer, however, is the first officially endorsed by the program.

Here is Terrapin's official press release:

"Terrapin Beer Company and The Walking Dead have teamed up to brew the official beer of the undead. Made with blood orange peel, and a horrific amount of hops, this bloodthirsty Red IPA will have you prepared for the upcoming Zombie Apocalypse.

The Walking Dead Blood Orange IPA will be available in 22 oz. bottles throughout Terrapin's full distribution footprint. Look for these bombers to drop on October 5!"
