You can actually feel the wind coming off the Inspire 1 when it's in flight. Standing several feet back, I still got a rush of air coming off the quadcopter's four giant rotors. It's a pretty impressive thing to see floating around in a tiny space on the floor of IFA.

The drone is in a different league entirely from the more hobbyist-friendly Phantom line. For starters, there's a sizable 4K camera hanging down from its base that'll also capture 12-megapixel stills.

At 6.5 pounds, it's a pretty heavy-duty drone, which is precisely why so much power is required from those four blades. The large carbon fiber arms also lift up, getting out of the way of the camera while shooting 4K at 30 FPS.

The massive remote pairs with the mobile app, which lets users control the camera, adjust flight settings and get a live view of precisely what the Inspire is seeing while flying around.
