Verizon customers will soon have a new flagship smartphone to consider. The carrier will reportedly begin taking pre-orders for the LG G3 on July 10 and will release it on July 17.
LG unveiled its latest flagship smartphone on May 27 when it announced the LG G3. The handset comes with a very impressive feature that neither Samsung nor Apple is currently offering, and it is sure to attract fans from both camps. The LG G3 is the first smartphone to ship with a jaw-dropping 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 quad HD display. To put things in perspective, Samsung's Galaxy S5 features a 5.1-inch 1920 x 1080 Super AMOLED display and Apple's current flagship iPhone 5s is using a 4-inch 1136 x 640 Retina display.
Early reviews of the LG G3 have all given the smartphone high marks for its stunning QHD display. Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile have already confirmed that they will offer the G3 but none have given any firm release date.
While all four major U.S. carriers are keeping a tight lid on the LG G3's release date, the always-reliable evleaks is once again pleasing smartphone fans by revealing when we can expect to see Verizon launch the device.
The tipster posted a screenshot from an internal Verizon database that lists the LG G3 will be available for pre-order on July 10 and he claims that the smartphone will be available in stores and online on July 17. There was no mention of Verizon's pricing for the G3.
As a reminder, the LG G3 boasts a super-sharp 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 QHD display with an extremely high pixel density of 538 pixels per inch (ppi). The handset has some powerful internals under the hood to keep things running smoothly, like a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and 3 GB of RAM. It will ship with 32 GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot that will support up to 128-GB microSD cards.
The G3's camera capabilities are also very impressive. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with OIS (optical image stabilization) and laser autofocus, and it will also use a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera for selfie lovers. The G3 comes equipped with a 3,000 mAh removable battery and has wireless charging capabilities built-in.
