It didn't take long for Cleveland Browns fans to lose hope in Johnny Football.

Despite having drafted quarterback Johnny Manziel in the 2014 NFL Draft, Browns fans seem to be already turning the page on his prospects. And the Dawg Pound has its sights set on Ohio State University quarterback Cardale Jones... so much that they've revved up the #FailForCardale social media campaign, encouraging the Browns to purposely lose to increase their chances of landing the Buckeyes' stud QB. What... last season's 7-9 record wasn't painful enough?

Already, fans are taking to their Twitter accounts, equipped to spread the word with the hash tag.

Wow. Try to wrap your head around a campaign to lose... before the season even begins. While there's no doubting Jones's skills – especially after he carved up Virginia Tech for 186 passing yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for 99 more yards and one more score Monday – Browns fans should be careful what they ask for.

Quarterbacks the team drafted before – including Tim Couch, Brady Quinn and Brandon Weeden – were nothing but busts. And Manziel could be approaching that same status. And yet, it should be easy to understand the fervor of Browns fans, with Jones playing the way he is for the defending national champion Buckeyes in the same state.

On board with #FailForCardale? Or is it a bit premature?
