Motorola's DROID Turbo 2, the successor to the original DROID Turbo, has been tipped to arrive in the United States as an exclusive smartphone available only through Verizon.

The news comes from Twitter leaker @upleaks, who claims that the DROID Turbo 2 is up for the unveiling in October. The DROID Turbo 2 is otherwise known as the Moto X Force, a similar device revealed through earlier leaks. Codenamed Motorola Bounce, the Moto X Force will be the international version of the DROID Turbo 2 and will reportedly make its way to the Chinese and European market in December.

Verizon unveiled the DROID Turbo 2 in October, and the original device is also a Verizon exclusive, so it is not surprising if Motorola decides to launch its new Turbo exclusively through Big Red as well.

In a tweet shared by one of our favorite leakers, @upleaks posted what is purported to be the very first renders of the DROID Turbo 2 to make their way online. The image shows the smartphone seems to be slightly smaller version of the Moto X, but the leaked specs sheet for the device confirms it will actually be faster and more powerful than the flagship.

The back of the device sports what appears to be a textured plastic panel, framed in by metal or hard plastic. At the bottom of the back panel is the DROID branding, while in front, at the bottom of the display, we can see the unmistakable new Verizon logo emblazoned right below the screen.

The image also suggests the DROID Turbo 2 will be compatible with Motorola's Turbo Charger, which offers to charge up a device in far less time than regular chargers.

Previous rumors, also from @upleaks, have claimed that the Moto X Force, aka the DROID Turbo 2, will sport a shatter-proof 5.43-inch Quad HD POLED display, which is a bit larger than the 5.2-inch Quad HD display of its predecessor.

Powering the device will reportedly be a Snapdragon 810 chipset paired with 3GB of RAM. It will also have a massive 3,760mAh battery, much bigger than the 3,000mAh battery of the Moto X Style, also known as the Moto X Pure Edition. It will have a 21MP camera and will come in two variants, one with 32GB of storage and another with 64GB.
