Little is known about the triumphant return of The X-Files to TV, but that will change next month, when the first episode of the six-part event series makes its debut at New York Comic-Con.

The episode, titled "My Struggle," will premiere on the Javits Center Main Stage during NYCC on October 10. Afterwards, series creator Chris Carter and star David Duchovny will be on hand for a Q&A session with fans, moderated by Kumail Nanjiani.

This first look at the show will be coming three months prior to the series premiere January 24 on Fox.

So far, we've heard little about the mysterious return of one of most beloved shows in television history. Fox has been keeping its cards close — thus far only releasing a brief 17-second teaser trailer for the show. In it, Mulder asks "Are you ready for this, Scully?" to which she replies, "I don't know there's a choice."

The first episode will see Mulder and Scully pulled back into the paranormal fold by conservative talk show host, Tad O'Malley, played by Joel McHale. Mulder and Scully find themselves investigating a case of alien abduction that doesn't seem too different from the abduction Scully experienced herself. Mulder is said to be in a "dark place" on the show, becoming disillusioned when he learns that his long-held alien conspiracy beliefs might not be entirely true.

The X-Files ended after a nine-season, 200-plus-episode run in 2001. A stand-alone film, The X-Files: I Want To Believe, released in 2008 to disappointing reviews, seemingly killing any chance of a third X-Files movie or additional episodes of the show.

Thankfully that wasn't the case, with Mulder, Scully and their legendary sexual tension set to return to the small screen. Whether or not their return to television is worth celebrating will be up to the legions of fans who campaigned for the show's revival. At this point, all they can do is believe. In preparation for the return of the show, fans can rewatch Carter's 10 favorite episodes. Check out the list here.
