Destiny: The Taken King will arrive with a slew of exclusive content for PlayStation console gamers and developer Bungie has the official details.

The popular Destiny game launched back in 2014 on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, but with some neat goodies available just for PlayStation gamers. The subsequent couple of expansions came with exclusive PlayStation content as well, and The Taken King now continues the tradition.

In addition to introducing a new Limited Edition Destiny: The Taken King PlayStation 4 Bundle, Bungie also offered a few details on the content headed exclusively to PlayStation consoles.

Adam Boyles, SCEA Vice President of Publisher Relations, took to the PlayStation blog to reveal the exclusive content PlayStation gamers can expect for the new Destiny: The Taken King.

The set of exclusive goodies will be available for PlayStation 3 (PS3) and PlayStation 4 (PS4) players, and it's quite a hefty package, bringing an exclusive co-op strike, a new crucible map, an exclusive gun and some exciting gear for each Guardian class.

The new co-op strike at Echo Chamber will have gamers stave off attacks from the Vex invaders. An exclusive multiplayer map called Sector 618, meanwhile, will heat things up even further within the Cosmodrome walls.

When it comes to gear, PlayStation gamers will be able to rock a mean Exotic rifle called Jade Rabbit, as well as some neat Legendary gear reserved only for PS consoles.

While Xbox One or Xbox 360 gamers will not be able to enjoy the same content as PlayStation gamers, at least not for now, the new Destiny: The Taken King will still have plenty of exciting things to offer. The game will bring loads of new story content, a massive map to explore, competitive and co-op maps, new enemies to defeat, new gear and more.

At the same time, it's worth pointing out that the exclusivity is for a limited period of time, although no specific date is available at this point. According to the announcement, this content will be available only for PlayStation consoles until "at least Fall 2016," which means that Xbox gamers should be able to get the same treats sometime after that.

The Taken King is set to launch on Tuesday, Sept. 15, taking the world of Destiny to the next level.
