Star Wars: Battlefront senior producer Jamie Keen has shed some light on what players can expect when they play as some of the characters featured in the upcoming game.

Battlefront has a Hero System, which allows anyone to become legendary Star Wars characters like Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett and Darth Vader, among others. Keen placed special focus on Luke Skywalker, whose overall state of development as a Jedi is reflected in his powers and movement.

"His jump is based on a normal biomechanical jump, but it's augmented by the Force," said Keen.

In order to play as Luke Skywalker, you will first have to locate the battle pickup. These are expected to come in at random on the 12 different maps, so you'll never have an idea of what you're getting.

Keep in mind that once you take control of a Hero or Villain, your health will start to decrease. Killing enemies will, however, boost your time.

"Our goal was to give an average player around two minutes as a Hero or Villain," said Keen. "But if you're good enough, you might stretch that to around five minutes."

Keen also revealed a few of Luke Skywalker's powers and unique moves. These include the powerful "Force Push," which can send enemies away; "Saber Rush," which can help you quickly propel yourself when you need to execute fast attacks; and then there's Luke's familiar Lightsaber, which you can use in the heavy attacks.

"Luke's movement is varied and powerful, featuring a wide-sweeping, heavy attack with his Lightsaber that can take out large groups of enemies," Keen said. "The Force Push is a gratifying move that will send imperial troops flying, and Saber Rush lets you use the Force to propel yourself extremely quickly for a lightning-fast attack."

Gamers will get to know more details on the iconic characters from Star Wars: Battlefront as they're revealed over the next couple of weeks.

Star Wars: Battlefront will become available on November 17. The game's beta version will be open to every player and will even be accessible offline. It is set to launch in early October.
