The images of an unidentified LG handheld has created confusion throughout the Internet. Some refer to it as the LG G4 Pro, others as the LG V10. Regardless of what it will be called, one thing is for certain: LG will unveil a new handheld on Oct. 1.

Earlier this month, images of what was known then as the LG-H968 surfaced on Chinese consumer site Tenaa. The device was speculated to be the LG G4 Pro, which is logical because of the G4's market success. Others threw in the G4 Note, a phablet.

However, "leakster" Evan Blass (@evleaks on Twitter) pointed out the V10 logo that was engraved at the back of the phone. Thus, majority now believe that it will be called the V10.

So What Will It Be: The G4 Pro, V10 or G4 Note?

LG uploaded a teaser confirming that something will be unveiled on Oct. 1. The company did not specify what model it will be. Neither were any of the technical specifications revealed. Therefore, everything until the debut will be pure speculation.

However, there are a couple of things that the LG teaser disclosed. First, women still look good even with bad hairstyling. The other, which most believe to be more relevant, is the confirmation of a notification screen.

The second display, meant for notifications like the ones people get on their smartwatches, is akin to what the Samsung Continuum had, but will probably have more sophistication and functionality considering that LG is rumored to release the device as a premium one, which will be in direct competition with the Apple iPhone 6s Plus and Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Contrary to the Continuum theory, however, the notification area will not be below the main display.

Furthermore, based on what the commercial suggests, the fan-rendered image by @evleaks is not exactly accurate in terms of the placement of the ticker. Instead of being a block smacked in the middle of the main screen, the slim horizontal display for the notifications will be in a conspicuous area just below the top bezel.

Putting LG's prospective premium flagship release in perspective, the handheld is likely to have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 octa-core SoC, 4GB RAM, an option of 32GB or 64GB internal storage, 5.8-inch Quad-HD Quantum Display at a native 2560 x 1440 resolution and a 3,500mAh removable battery pack. The camera specs are highly debated, but most agree that it will top the G4's 20MP main camera.

The teaser video will probably be the LG marketing arm's last completed project before the department gets revamped.
