The much-rumored HTC One A9, codenamed Hima Aero, just surfaced online in a new live image that offers a better glimpse of its front panel and confirms some of its hardware specs.

The HTC One A9 has leaked extensively as of late and anticipation is building up ahead of the big launch. HTC has yet to make an official announcement or give any hints regarding this upcoming device, but the rumor mill is nonetheless busy churning and the latest leak further boosts the hype.

While recently the HTC One A9 (Aero) was spotted in six color options, with some reminiscent of Apple's iPhone, the latest leak now shows a live image of the purported device and offers a clearer look at its design - at least the front panel.

At the same time, the live image of the HTC One A9 (Aero) also seems to confirm some previously-leaked specifications. Surfacing on China's popular Weibo, this live image of the One A9 in the wild was apparently taken on Sept. 16, as that's the date that appears on the phone's display.

The front panel shown in this image falls in line with previous leaks that showed the smartphone's design. The purported HTC One A9 (Aero) has a physical home button, which likely doubles as a fingerprint reader, while its volume rocker and power button are located on its right edge.

The specs listed on the display of the HTC One A9 in this live image also confirm previously-leaked information. The smartphone will apparently have a 5-inch full HD AMOLED display, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage space.

Previous leaks, meanwhile, also revealed that the HTC One A9 would come with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 SoC with eight Cortex A-53 cores, Adreno 405 graphics, a 13-megapixel rear camera potentially with a Sony sensor, a 4-megapixel UltraPixel front camera and a 2,150 mAh battery. Software-wise, the HTC One A9 could be among the first smartphones to launch with the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow on board out of the box.

HTC is hosting an event next week on Tuesday, Sept. 29, but it remains to be seen whether the One A9 will make its debut at the event. Some rumors indicated that the this upcoming smartphone would be the star of the show, while others suggested that HTC instead plans to announce a China-only Butterfly 3 and an updated One M9+ at the event and save the One A9 announcement for a later date.

Sept. 29 is also the date Google plans to announce its new Nexus smartphones and HTC could feel its One A9 would not receive the attention it deserves if it competes with the new LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P for the spotlight.
