Tinymos, a Singapore-based startup, has announced that it is working on a small camera aimed at those interested in astronomy.

The camera is called the Tiny1, and it is set to undergo crowdfunding in November on Indiegogo. The team behind the camera hopes that the funding will be successful enough to bring the device to stores.

In fact, Tinymos, which was created in 2014, reportedly already has a working prototype, but it simply needs a battery pack so that it can stay on without being connected to a USB power source. The goal for Tinymos is to become the GoPro of stargazing, and the company has released some pretty compelling shots of the moon and nearby stars.

The camera will certainly be nice for occasions like the recent supermoon lunar eclipse, especially considering the fact that our smartphones have not yet advanced enough to take decent shots of those kinds of events.

The image sensor in the camera itself has better low-light sensitivity than other compact cameras and even allows users to be able to mount better lenses on the body of the camera.

The camera itself also looks pretty nice, featuring a sleek industrial metal design that is very simplistic.

Tinymos itself has, so far, raised around $140,000 in funding from angel investors, and it has also received a grant from the Singapore government for $175,000. Ideally, the company thinks that there will be around two million people in North America that will be interested in the camera.
