Viewers of The Flash on The CW know that Zoom is coming — but they haven't gotten a good look at the big villain of the series' second season just yet. All fans have to go on is the utterance of his name by Atom Smasher at the end of the Season 2 premiere that aired earlier this week.

Now, a new trailer from CTV in Canada previews Zoom (Tony Todd) — giving not only a good look at the character for the first time, but also featuring him speaking for the first time, as well.

This trailer also shows the fallout from last season's finale, when a giant wormhole appeared above Central City. The Flash ran into that wormhole to save everyone, but not without losing a friend. As it turns out, that incident unlocked a total of 52 breaches (as in "The New 52") between universes, according to Cisco (Carlos Valdes) in this video.

As we saw in the season premiere, one of those breaches resulted in Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) – who is the Flash in an alternate universe – appearing to warn this universe's Team Flash about an evil that is on its way: Zoom.

All the alternate universes and breaches between universes could get confusing for The Flash viewers this season, but the show's executive producer, Andrew Kreisberg, promises that the series will help viewers keep all the details straight by taking a cue from Doc Brown in the Back to The Future films.

"We do what they do," said Kreisberg to USA Today. "We have a very erudite professor take out a magic marker and go to a chalkboard and show people what it means."

That professor would be Doctor Stein (Victor Garber) who will, at some point this season, pull out the blackboard and attempt to explain the differences between Earth-1, Earth-2, Earth-3 and so on.

That doesn't however mean that the characters on The Flash this season won't get confused with all these multiple Earths. Indeed, the multiverse will complicate things for the good guys on Earth-1.

"Some of the villains from Earth-2 turn out to be the doppelgangers of good people that we know on Earth-1, so that creates its own set of complications," said Kreisberg.

Kreisburg even hinted that there's another Dr. Harrison Wells out there in one of those universes — but perhaps this time, it's the real Dr. Wells and not a villain who took over his body, which is what happened on Earth-1. Seeing Wells again will still probably upset Barry, even when he realizes it's not the same man.

The Flash airs on The CW on Tuesdays.
