When Google Drive crashed on Friday, Oct. 9, users — particularly workers, business professionals, students, teachers and other folks who needed to get things done — turned to Twitter to post hilarious reactions and memes to ease their suffering.

At 2:35 p.m. that day, users began to panic as they were unable to access the document sharing service. The outage lasted for more than two hours.

During the disruption, Google Drive users who wished to open documents, spreadsheets as well as presentations were greeted with an error message.

"Sorry, the file you have requested does not exist. Please check the address and try again," reads the error message.

"We know something's up with Drive for the moment," Google Drive (@googledrive) tweeted, a message that immediately made the rounds over the Internet. "Rest assured, we're on it and we'll update soon."

Google posted another tweet using the handle Google Docs.

"@googledrive My life is over," a Twitter user with the handle Michelle Profis commented on Google Drive's post. The problem was reportedly solved only by 4:49 p.m. on the same day. The company's Apps Status Dashboard was showing problems for Docs, Drive, Slides, Classroom, Realtime API as well as Sheets.

Meanwhile, a Google spokesperson revealed that the problem was caused by a code push that behaved differently in widespread use from how it did during testing, based on the company's preliminary diagnosis.

"If you were affected, we apologize for the disruption this caused. We are calculating the impact to our business customers and will issue SLA credits as appropriate. Full details will follow in our incident report," told the spokesperson.

During the more than two-hour outage of the synchronization service, a wide array of humorous jabs from netizens ignited on Twitter. Here are the most humorous tweets netizens posted over the Google Drive outage.
