After celebrating Halo 5: Guardian's gold master, 343 Industries announced that a major update for the Master Chief Collection has gone gold and its release is imminent.

Headlining the upcoming patch are new penalties for being idle, quits and betrayals. 343 Industries hopes to release the patch at some point this week, so the studio shared what to expect for the game's update.

After the update rolls out, 343 Industries plans to release another playlist update. The playlist update will, among many things, bring more capture the flag and more modes that start out with battle rifles.

"The playlist team continues to tune existing experiences as well as create new ones, including Halo: CE 4v4, which will be the next rotational playlist after Infection, Head to Head, and more," 343 Industries said last week in a blog post.
