"Star Wars: Episode VII" may still be a long way off, but people are desperate for any rumors they can find. That makes today's latest report such a big deal, because it deals with a member of the original cast. It seems that the new "Star Wars" might feature Carrie Fisher's 21-year-old daughter, Billie Lourd, making her first foray into that famous galaxy far, far away.

A new report has surfaced saying that director J.J. Abrams will be using Lourd for scenes playing her mother's Princess Leia character when she is having flashbacks to her younger days with Han and Luke. If these reports are true, this would mark the first time a "Star Wars" movie has ever featured a flashback.

This rumor comes from The Daily Mail, so it is not exactly FEDEX delivering a guaranteed package. But sometimes where there's smoke there's fire, and this already jives with a previous report from Latino Review. If true, it would be an interesting passing of the torch, or lightsaber, from one generation to the next. "Star Wars" is sacred for fans, and the inclusion of the Fisher family would probably be a welcome addition for most.

Fans were thrilled when the production brought Ford, Hamill and Fisher back for "Episode VII," but this is a real coup for the production with J.J. Abrams at the helm. The stranglehold of secrecy on the "Star Wars" set is palpable, especially after a few shots of the Millennium Falcon surfaced a few weeks back. Fans are eager to hear any tidbit that the good people at Disney will toss them. The only thing out there about Billie Lourd, or her work, is that she is an actress/dancer. As far Billie goes, maybe fans will see her in Leia Organa's classic earmuff hairdo.

It is interesting that the production is planning on using some flashback sequences in the film that will hopefully bridge the gap between trilogies. It is unclear what kind of screen time Lourd will nab, but this is certainly an interesting tidbit of news. One thing to be sure of is that this will truly be the role of a lifetime and the perfect part for this now-famous actress.
