It's not exactly retro-tech, but it sure comes with heapings of false nostalgia (unless you were born before 1930, that is): a Bluetooth-enabled keyboard that resembles a typewriter.

Produced by Qwerkytoys Inc. and initially funded through a Kickstarter campaign, the Qwerkywriter takes all the necessary steps to ensure that it's as accurate to a typewriter it can possibly be, minus going analog. Heavier than most other Bluetooth keyboards, the device weighs around 2.8 pounds. It is painted with a matte black powder-based paint for that early- to mid-20th century feel.

However, the actual design is far from antiquated, engineered by a computer-aided design (CAD), Mac OS-supported, and can be connected to a charge via a micro-USB port. Kailh Blue mechanical switches are used for the keyboard to give it that old-school click—even if a Bluetooth-enabled keyboard isn't necessarily "old school" to begin with.

The official shipping date for preordered Qwerkywriters is Oct. 25. While its preorder price is $329, it will be hiked up to $399 after the keyboard's release.
