Scientists previously conducted a test, simulating meteorite impacts on early oceans and found the formation of glycine. The same scientists tweaked the simulation a bit, changing its carbon source from solid amorphous carbon to bicarbonate, and found the formation of chemical products that make up the building blocks of life.
