One motor company after the other has been issuing recalls since last year, and Ford Motor again joins the pack by announcing on Tuesday six separate vehicle recalls in North America for various safety issues.

Around 83,000 of the recalls are from the U.S. and decentralized territories, while 8,200 are from Canada and 600 from Mexico.

Based on research, included in the Ford vehicle recalls are the following:

* 92,000 units of 2013-2014 models of Ford Flex, Police Interceptor, Taurus; 2012-2014 Ford Edge; 2013-2014 Lincoln MKS, Lincoln MKT; 2014 Lincoln MKX. Reason for recall is problem with its dive-shaft, specifically its right-side half-shaft, which could bring about a “loss of drive function.” The problem may also lead to the car rolling away when parked on a hill, especially when the emergency brake isn’t applied. Replacement will be undertaken if faulty part is inspected.

* 5,264 units of 2011-2014 Ford F59 Commercial Stripped Chassis. The electrical junction block may experience short circuit, particularly on vehicles operating on salt-treated roads in winter months, which could eventually lead to complete electrical power loss, smoke in right front wheel or fire.

* 2,100 units of 2014 Ford Escape made at Louisville Assembly Plant from October 15 to 22 in 2013. Some units have bonds that secure the rooftop glass of the vehicle and may have been improperly cured. This could bring about the rooftop glass to leak, produce additional noise in the car or even force the rooftop panels to detach from cars. Escape owners are advised to bring their cars for free replacement of rooftop panels.

*635 units of 2014 Ford F53 Motorhome Stripped Chassis and F59 Commercial Stripped Chassis. A possible improper construction of its brake calipers are being looked at that may result to issues on its brake pedal.

* 368 units of 2014 Ford Transit Connect, specifically vans sent to Puerto Rico. Reason for the recall is a wrong pictogram label on its brake fluid reservoir cap. The label doesn’t have a particular text being required by U.S. law.

* 197 units of 2014 Ford Fiesta. These models may have missed a layer of adhesive on its gas tank that may be more prone to leakage and eventually catch fire.

Owners of Ford vehicles with half-shaft problems will be notified through mail starting August 25. Other recalls will be under dealer’s responsibility free of charge.

Ford cars on recall have no reports of crashes, injuries and deaths related to the safety defects, as spokeswoman of Ford said.

Earlier this year, Ford already conducted a few vehicle recalls for issues such as faulty power steering and airbag software, among others.
