With Street Fighter V poised for a February 2016 release for PlayStation 4 and PC, the excitement surrounding the title is palpable. Now, eager fans have data mined files of the beta version of the game (which was for the PC) and discovered that Capcom intends to introduce six new characters as downloadable content (DLC).

Capcom's development team has already revealed that it has several post-launch surprises up its sleeve - including introduction of new characters.

The developers recently concluded the beta testing for Street Fighter V, which primarily focused on cross-platform play.

Now per a Shoryuken report, thanks to enterprising Street Fighter V fans who indulged in some data mining, the details of the proposed DLC fighters (and all the 15 characters) have been exposed. The audio files excavated reveal that the DLC list for the classic game will comprise Guile and Balrog, both of whom appeared in Street Fighter II; Ibuki, Urien and Alex from Street Fighter III and Juri from Street Fighter IV.

Whether these fighters will have the same abilities as in the older titles or Capcom will endow them with new ones is not clear from the files.

The six impending DLC characters for the title will likely arrive during the course of a year. To gain access to these fighters, gamers will be required to use their Fight Money currency. Alternately, they can pay real money to gain access to the characters.

The developers also have a mysterious character dubbed "Fan" or "Fun" in the pipeline as well.

AceKombat, a Shoryuken forum user, also excavated some sound files that revealed the Capcom Pro Tour event names and the host country details. There is also a ranking system in place for the game and categories vary from Rookie to Hero. Subcategories such as Super also exist, which will make matching for battles easier.

The extracted audio files for Street Fighter V that give a peek into the characters can be heard on Shoryuken's website. The title will release on Feb. 16, 2016 for PS4 and PC in North America, followed by a Europe launch two days later.
