Cho'gall, the chieftain of the Twilight's Hammer clan, is one of the newest characters in Blizzard's Heroes of the Storm, joining the ranged assassin Lunara and the melee warrior Greymane. What makes Cho'gall so unique in the game and among all big MOBA titles is that he will be used by two players at the same time.

Blizzard unveiled The Lost Vikings as Heroes of the Storm character last year, which allows one player to control three heroes at the same time. Cho'gall is the opposite, allowing two players to control the two-headed orc warrior.

Cho and Gall are the two heads of Cho'gall, and each of them has their own set of abilities. Cho is a bruiser, according to Blizzard, with the player controlling him in charge with the movement and the basic attacks of Cho'gall. Gall, on the other hand, is an assassin focused on spellcasting, and the player controlling him is basically riding shotgun on the Cho player.

Heroes of the Storm senior game designer Kent-Erik Hagman said at the annual BlizzCon that Blizzard initially though that Cho'gall would be "too crazy" for the MOBA, as there would be so many traditional things broken with such a two-in-one character. However, Blizzard discovered that it is actually pretty fun to play as the more passive Gall, and pushed through with the development and release of the Cho'gall.

The team that chooses Cho'gall will only have four heroes, and opposing teams that kill Cho'gall will automatically get a double kill. Blizzard said, however, that they tuned up the character to be able to compensate for the disadvantage.

While each player will have separate abilities, one of the coolest attacks of Cho'gall requires the two heads to work in unison. Named the Rune Bomb, Cho rolls an explosive boulder towards the opponents, and Gall determines when to detonate it.

Players will be able to use Cho'gall for free if they use the character with someone who already owns him. Blizzard, however, is running the Cho'gall Buddy Brawl special event from Nov. 17 to Jan. 1 of next year wherein players can unlock Cho'gall by winning two games using him with someone that already owns the hero. For players that already own Cho'gall, they can cash in for 2,200 gold if they win four games using the hero with someone that has not yet unlocked Cho'gall.
