The newest update to Halo 5: Guardians is coming this week, and it is expected to bring the long awaited multiplayer game mode Big Team Battle.

343 Industries announced via Halo Waypoint that it is planning a massive update for next week, and it will include the 8v8 vehicular mode Big Team Battle. There will also be several new maps, each of which was created using Forge, and based on popular multiplayer maps.

The maps have been established by members of the community who have proven themselves as capable Forgers.

"The Forgers continued to provide feedback and direction for the map, and the team here at the studio continued to iterate on flow, polish, spawn and objective placement, look and feel, and more,"says 343 Industries Community Manager Andy "Bravo" Dudynsky in a blog post.

The maps in question are Deadlock, Basin, Guillotine and Recurve. These maps are based on popular Forge and Big Team Battle maps, Sidewinder, Standoff, Burial Mounds, Longbow and Headlong.

The mode is hotly anticipated ever since the game was announced and even after the game was released, despite the availability of newer modes. Big Team Battle has long been a fan favorite, and some players were disappointed when 343 Industries revealed that the mode would not be available at launch.

Outside of Big Team Battle and the new maps, the update will also bring to the table new REQs. Nothing much is known about the new REQs, but 343 Industries did release an image that showcases some of what players should expect next week.

The new update should also tune some issues facing Warzone Assault, among other problems players are experiencing. However, when it comes down to the reports of the handling of the game being different when compared to the beta, players should not expect much of a change here.

343 Industries hopes Halo 5: Guardians players will understand the new controls as time goes by.
