Microsoft's PowerPoint is used by many organizations for making presentations. PowerPoint has a number of graphic tools and templates but most of the users do not utilize these features, making presentations somewhat boring. However, the new PowerPoint design tools, Designer and Morph, are expected to make PowerPoint presentations interesting.

On Friday, Nov. 13, Kirk Koenigsbauer, the corporate vice president of Office 365 Client Applications at Microsoft, wrote in a blog about the new tools that will be a "game changer."

"PowerPoint Designer and Morph are new intelligent tools that work for you by automating the creation of slides and presentations, helping everyone get more out of Office," says Koenigsbauer. "With a cloud-powered recommendation engine and smart animation technology, these new PowerPoint capabilities help anyone create polished slides and captivating motion effects with just a few quick steps."

Designer benefits from machine learning and Microsoft's cloud for processing images and for picking an appropriate layout for an image. To take advantage of the latest Designer tool, users will have to agree for their images to be uploaded so that they can be processed.

Microsoft is planning to introduce automatic color options in the near term that will pick prominent colors present in an image for adjusting a slide's style. This feature may help a user save time rather than crop images and apply color effects manually.

With the novel Morph tool, users will be able to create slide animations easily. The Morph tool has the ability to animate 3D shapes, images and text. Morph is PowerPoints's latest transition effect, which will figure out the animations a user wants and will apply them automatically. The Morph tool will help enhance tutorials in PowerPoint.

The Morph and Designer tool will be made exclusive only for Office 365 subscribers, who are using Windows 10 or the full desktop version of Microsoft PowerPoint. The new features are also expected to expand to other platforms such as Android and iOS.

Just like the Windows Insiders program, Microsoft will also launch Office Insider program. Members of the program will get early access to the pre-release versions of Office 2016. The Office Insiders program will also be available for Mac users.

Customers interested to experience the latest PowerPoint Morph and Designer features early can opt-in to the Office 365 First Release. Microsoft has also started a sign-up page for the Office Insider program.
