Why go from 0 to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds? Well, for supercar maker Rezvani Motors, because the Beast can.

That, however, wasn't good enough for them so they created a new "X" division, and the first model to come out of the company's special section is the Beast X.

The original Beast was, well, quite the beast already on the streets. The Beast X is an evolution of its roots and takes things even further. Instead of traveling from 0 to 60 in 2.7 seconds like the first Beast, the Beast X now bests that time by a speedier 0.2 seconds.

That's 0 to 60 in just 2.5 seconds coming right off a red light. That's right, as fast and as wicked-looking the Beast X is, it's also street legal. Just like the original Beast, the Beast X shares a similar chassis with the Ariel Atom along with a Honda-sourced 2.4-liter engine under its sharply designed hood.

The body of the vehicle is made entirely of carbon fiber, and even though it weighs 200 pounds more than its predecessor, the Beast X still tallies in at a fairly light weight of just 1,850 pounds. Now that isn't much for a twin-turbocharged 700 horsepower engine to push around, and with a modified body that includes a front splitter, a set of side rails, and a twin-wing rear spoiler for additional downforce, the Beast X has a power-to-weight ratio greater than that of the mighty Bugatti Veyron.

As for the supercar's design, "the exterior design of Beast X personifies aggression," the automaker says. "By studying the lines and fluidity of the standard Beast design, designers and engineers were able to produce a vehicle unlike any other, unparalleled in both performance and style."

The final cost of the Beast X? A cool $325,000. Included with the hefty pricetag is free admission to a number of tracks around the country for five lucky owners to play in with their brand new supercar. Why only five? Well, that's how many Rezvani plans to produce. And since the supercars will be built to order, each will be one of a kind, making the supercar truly a rare and precious Beast.
