Microsoft has taken the wraps off PowerApps, its newest application development solution geared towards assisting people with no coding knowledge to develop apps.

Designed for the business market, Microsoft PowerApps helps companies come up with and share their developed apps for Android, iOS and Windows with the use of a simple-to-use Microsoft Office-like suite. This makes app development and distribution faster as it comes equipped with a bevy of specialist tools, templates and a visual designer to systemize workflows.

"While companies are increasingly turning to SaaS solutions for specific scenarios like CRM, travel and HR, using services like Microsoft Dynamics, Concur or Workday, most business app scenarios still remain locked on premises, dependent on corporate connected PCs," says Bill Staples, corporate vice president of the Microsoft Azure application platform, in a blog post.

Earlier this month, Staples said that Microsoft is convinced that while workers are presently much more mobile than ever before, lots of tasks are still carried out with the aid of the desktop. The reason behind this is that there are still a small percentage of mobile apps that have the ability to tap into all of the data that many businesses collect every single day.

PowerApps will allow anyone to use their built-in connections, or ones developed by their companies, to connect PowerApps to cloud services, including Office 365, Salesforce, Dynamics CRM, One Drive and Dropbox as well as on-premises systems, such as Oracle databases, SQL servers, SharePoint, SAP and more.

Workers may then effortlessly share their developed apps with other people in their team who can then take advantage of the app other staff members designed via PowerApps.

It is worth noting that this service is in beta stage at the moment. Microsoft has yet to release any price details.

In the meantime, Microsoft is not the only firm which is focusing on this type of service. AppGyver earlier introduced its Composer 2 solution which also promises to make it easy for anyone to write a simple mobile application.
