LG has launched its new midrange smartphone called LG Zero, which has a full metal body.

LG has unveiled a number of mobile devices this year and on Tuesday, Dec. 1, the Korean company announced the global rollout of its LG Zero handset.

The LG Zero has a solid aluminum body that gives the device a premium feel and look.

"This newest smartphone's smooth metal body is enhanced by the 'Arc Glass' design of the edges which create a slimmer profile," per LG.

The smartphone sports a 5-inch HD in-cell Touch IPS display with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels and 294 ppi. The company suggests that the display of the LG Zero offers crisper images and better outdoor visibility.

A quad-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and 1.5 GB of RAM powers the smartphone. The LG Zero is equipped with a 13 MP rear-facing camera and an 8 MP front-facing camera. The handset has 16 GB of on-board storage. With the presence of a microSD card slot, customers can expand the storage capacity further.

The LG Zero has a 2,050 mAh battery and will come running on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Customers will hope that the latest LG offering gets Android 6.0 Marshmallow update as soon as possible to enjoy new features of the latest Android operating system.

The LG smartphone measures 142 x 8 x 7.4 mm, or 5.59 x 2.83 x 0.29 inches. The mobile phone weighs 147 grams, or 5.19 ounces. The LG Zero supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and USB connectivity.

The handset will be available in two hues: silver and gold.

In September this year, LG launched LG Zero in South Korea and some other regions as LG Class, which has a price tag of about $340. LG has not confirmed the price of the LG Zero; however, it should have a similar price as the LG Class.

The LG Zero will be available in Taiwan starting this week followed by its launch in other key markets such as Latin America, Asia and Europe in the near term. However, an exact release date of the smartphone is not known.

A GSMArena report suggests that in the U.S., the LG device may head to AT&T.
