Electronic Arts and developer Maxis are gearing up to launch the much anticipated Sims 4 video game for PC in 2014. Unlike SimCty, which was created by the same developer, gamers will have the option to play offline. This move should make it more attractive to some gamers who lacks a steady broadband network. Still, players will have to register their game through EA's online gaming service, Origins.

Sims 4 is similar to its predecessors where the player assumes direct control over the mind and body of a Sim. There's also quite a number of powerful created tools designed to give players more options on what they can do in the world. Furthermore, Sims have more emotions and enhanced intelligence, which should come in handy as the game progresses.

"The Sims franchise has the best fans in the world and their passion and enthusiasm is at an all-time high," said Rachel Franklin, VP and General Manager of The Sims Studio. "Those millions of voices will fuel our development process, helping The Sims 4 to be the most ambitious and the best game our studio has ever made. We can't wait to see our fans reaction when The Sims 4 comes out in autumn 2014."

Players who are hoping to be the first to get their hands on the game can pre-order right now to receive the Limited Edition which comes with The Sims 4 Life of the Party Digital Content. For players who own various video game consoles, Electronic Arts did not reveal when Sims 4 will be available on those systems.

Meanwhile, Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment, also announced the release date of the much anticipated first person shooter, Titanfall. The game is scheduled to go on sale come March 11, 2014 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. Titanfall is an online only multiplayer first person shooter where players will have the option to control giant mechs along with taking a jetpack into battle.

The game is being developed by the folks who created the Call of Duty franchise after leaving Infinity Ward, which is now owned by Activision.
