It's safe to say the gaming community has Final Fantasy VII and Cloud Strife on the brain. From the announcement that Cloud would be joining the roster of Super Smash Bros. to the reveal of new gameplay footage from the Final Fantasy VII remake on PlayStation 4, there is a lot of love for Cloud and his buster sword going around in the gaming world right now.

No doubt fans will be even more excited come next week, when the final Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS focused Nintendo Direct shines more light on exactly what Cloud will play like when he is added to Nintendo's all-star fighting game.

The Nintendo Direct will be on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. pacific time, and expect new details on Cloud to be the least surprising part of the show. It's assumed Nintendo will announce other new fan-favorite DLC fighters, as well as the possibility of new stages and other surprises.

We already know some details about Cloud in the meantime. His "Final Smash" looks to be his signature Omnislash move from FFVII, and he can somehow (we're not sure how) conjure up iconic Final Fantasy summons like Bahamut.

All of Cloud's abilities and much, much more is set to be revealed on Tuesday. Until then, it's going to be a long, anticipation filled wait for Super Smash Bros. fans.
