Star Wars Battlefront, according to Electronic Arts, saw the biggest launch ever for a Star Wars video game. Over the game's first week, it was said that players took down more than 15 million AT-ATs.

However, Star Wars Battlefront is not without issues, with one of the major ones currently frustrating gamers being the title's horrible matchmaking.

Several threads on the official Star Wars Battlefront official forum has gamers discussing the broken matchmaking of the game.

In the thread, one gamer narrated that for every mode that he tries to join, he is placed in a lobby with only one or two other players, sometimes into a completely empty lobby. Upon restarting his PlayStation 4 or modem, the lobbies on all game modes are suddenly populated by players.

Another gamer in Australia stated that he is experiencing major issues in getting a server, with no playable game modes even during peak hours.

One gamer also expressed the need for team balance, a sentiment that was shared by video game website Kotaku among a variety of matchmaking issues that was reported. There have been instances when lopsided teams were formed, with one team composed of high-level gamers with advanced equipment and another team composed of low-level gamers that are just starting out. Of course, such games would end in an unenjoyable slaughter.

There are also instances of gamers finding themselves trapped in the match finder screen of the title, and a bizarre instance when only two gamers where placed in a match and on the same team. The result was that seconds after starting a round, the match ended with the team of two players winning against the team of zero players.

DICE has acknowledged the complaints on the matchmaking issues of Star Wars Battlefront, and it said that it is working to fix the problem. However, there were no details on when such a fix is expected.

Gamers are clamoring for the game to introduce a server browser, which would definitely help solve certain issues. Whether that would be included in the upcoming fix, however, remains to be seen.
