Although closed beta players of Fable Legends signed an NDA not to share anything from the game with other players, that still didn't stop one gamer from releasing an image with the game's microtransactions prices and sharing it with the world on Reddit.

While it should not come as a surprise that the free-to-play title has microtransactions, potential players still found themselves both shocked and unhappy about the news.

The screen shot suggests that the range of prices for buying gold in the game start at $4.99 for "a pound of gold" to $59.99 for a "ton of gold." There's no word on how important having a lot of gold in the game is (or if players can still enjoy the game sufficiently without buying extra), but that hasn't stopped potential Fable Legends players from voicing their concerns.

"So pay to win," wrote Reddit user Raging_Bullgod. "Yeah. Fable is kind of dead to me now."

"I'm gonna put it out there," wrote Reddit user Shintox. "If you design a game with a paywall or microtransactions, I will not play it. It goes immediately in to the recycle bin."

Developer Lionhead Studios tried to assuage these upset gamers on Twitter, after getting many tweets from unhappy players.

The company promises that everything is easily earned in the game by simply playing it, regardless of microtransactions. They also have a goal of having "a happy community of players," although, at the moment, that's unlikely, at least until more information becomes available about the game's business model.

In the meantime, Fable Legends goes into open beta next year and encourages gamers to start signing up. However, those players won't actually see the game until spring, as the timetable for that beta recently got pushed back. Originally, Lionhead planned for the open beta to happen this year, but that didn't happen.

"It's simply the most ambitious game we've ever created at Lionhead," wrote Lionhead on its website. "We've built a unique and innovative multiplayer experience combining RPG and RTS gameplay which allows you to play, and use your gear seamlessly, across Xbox One and Windows 10. On top of this, we've built a beautiful new world full of grand stories and adventures. And it's taking more time than we thought."
