Metal Gear Online, the traditional multiplayer mode of the much-hyped Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, just ended its brief beta testing and went live for PCs.

This means that anyone can now enjoy Metal Gear Online (MGO) on PC, even if they're not beta testers. MGO has been available for PS4 and Xbox One console gamers for a good while now, but it's only now it made its way to the PC.

Konami finally announced the official PC release of Metal Gear Online on Jan. 19, marking the end of a very brief beta that lasted for just a few days. Nevertheless, Konami also pointed out that it's still working on improving MGO and more updates are in store as it makes progress with development.

The developer has now highlighted that it made some "key adjustments" to Metal Gear Online based on the feedback it received during the beta testing period, managing to overcome some setbacks. Things should now be smoother and better, as betas are always just testing grounds.

"After some initial hiccups we're going forward guns at the ready," Konami announced in a new post on Steam.

Konami doesn't specify which "hiccups" it's referring to, but the official release for PC should mean that things are better than they were in the beta version.

"However that doesn't mean we've stopped development, quite the contrary," adds the announcement.

Konami promised that new updates will become available for the game, aiming to add content and enhance the experience, just like with the previously released console versions of Metal Gear Online.

At the same time, Konami wants to sweeten the deal with a neat incentive in order to get more gamers to try Metal Gear Online. Playing at least one match between Jan. 19 and Jan. 26 will get all players a sweet bonus of 3,000 Gear Points, which they can spend on various gear customization items. This may stir some microtransactions-related controversy, but it is what it is.

Along with the exciting news, Konami also boasted that 2016 is already "shaping up to be an exciting year" for Metal Gear Online, and it's only just begun. The developer plans to add more updates and DLC this year, so more good news should surface soon.

Konami promised to update Metal Gear Online even after Hideo Kojima's departure, and it seems to be making good on its word. More DLC maps and Survival Mode are expected to hit the scene, so stay tuned for more updates for the Metal Gear Solid V online multiplayer mode.
