Ubisoft released a new trailer for its upcoming game Far Cry Primal, giving players a rundown of all the main features and various abilities they will need to master to survive in this wild world.

As we previously learned, players will control a hunter named Takkar, the last survivor of his tribe, which lived in the land of Oros. In order to "rise above extinction" in the "harshest time in the history of mankind," Takkar must learn how to do everything from make clothes to assemble weapons that will protect him from savage beasts — including other tribes that are out for blood.

The new five-minute "101" video showcases the gameplay, revealing that you either hunt or be hunted. Luckily, Takkar has an arsenal of weapons that can be collected and made, including spears, clubs and various forms of a bow and arrow. This is shown in a series of killing after killing.

However, that's not all. Cue the creative murder montage, because the player can craft even deadlier weapons by picking up rare materials along the way.

The video then goes into detail about controlling and taming animals to use them too as weapons to protect Takkar and attack enemies who cross their path. This includes the owl companion that can scout enemies from the air and execute them in one unexpected swoop.

Other animals that can be used to the Beast Master's advantage include badgers, big cats and of course, the wild bear. The gameplay trailer further reveals just how awesome the bear-riding mode looks, as it gives Takkar extra mobility and more power when in battle.

The video further explains the storylines of the other human tribes, while also showing how important it is to gather resources to build Takkar's village back up to once again be a thriving community. The larger the population, the higher the impact of the spiritual journey the tribe can take to help save themselves. That means, get ready to drink some blood and experience trippy hallucinations.

Far Cry Primal is available on Feb. 23 for PS4 and Xbox One, and for PC on March 1. Watch all that Takkar can and must do to survive in the trailer below.
