The iPhone 5se and the iPad Air 3 are expected to be unveiled in an Apple event in the week of March 14, and a new report is seemingly confirming this expected launch date.

In addition to claiming that Apple is indeed planning to unveil the iPhone 5se and the iPad Air 3 in an event on March 15, 9to5Mac reports that the devices will be available in both retail stores and online stores of Apple as soon as March 18.

According to the Apple news website's sources, Apple will most likely not be offering preorders to customers for the two devices, though the sources added that the company's plans regarding the sale of the iPhone 5se and iPad Air 3 could change.

As 9to5Mac notes, the absence of preorders and the release of devices almost immediately after being unveiled is a new strategy for Apple. In comparison, the iPad Pro was released to the market more than two months after being unveiled by the company, and new models of the iPhone usually goes on sale a week or two after being introduced with a preorder period in place.

The iPad mini 4, however, was both unveiled and released on Sept. 9, which is the same day that the iPad Pro was introduced. Whether this new strategy will be applied by Apple for all of its products moving forward has not yet been determined.

Apple's iPhone 5se will be the first 4-inch model of the iPhone since the iPhone 5s, which was released back in Sept. 20, 2013. Reports claim that the smartphone will have specifications similar to the iPhone 6s within its smaller body, including the A9 and M9 processors that are used in the current flagship devices of Apple. The iPhone 5se is also said to be supporting Apple Pay and always-on Siri.

The iPad Air 3, on the other hand, is another upcoming Apple device, and it is expected to be a massive upgrade to its predecessor. The new Apple tablet is said to be packing a 4K display with 4 GB of RAM and improved battery life, and a leaked case supposedly for the tablet confirms that it took cues from the design of the iPad Pro with support for the Smart Connector, along with a flash function for the rear-facing camera and a total of four speakers.
