The Xbox One version of ARK: Survival Evolved has been brought current with the PC edition of the game.

Version 731 of the Xbox One build of ARK: Survival Evolved delivered, as promised, local and online split-screen for cooperative play.

"We know this has been a highly requested feature from players and we're stoked to allow you guys to unravel the mysteries of the ARK side by side with your friends and families," says developer Studio Wildcard.

It also delivered sail-backed Dimetrodon, shiny Dung Beetles and beast of burden Gallimimus.

Only concerned about small prey, the carnivorous Dimetrodon is one of ARK's only few creatures that can be described as relatively friendly. Its sail can deliver shade in the heat and insulate itself, and others, in extreme cold.

Dung Beetles are "organic biofactories" that eat poop and pump it out as oil, which can be burned to produce power or used to fertilize crops.

The chicken-like Gallimimus is possibly the fastest animal on ARK. This herbivore is incredibly skittish and easy looks nervous when it's having a bite to eat.

"The speedy herbivore makes its way onto the ARK with no natural way to defend itself except for running away," says Wildcard. "Thankfully the Gallimimus may very well be the fastest dinosaur on the ARK, its strength, endurance and speed of its legs allow it to ferry up to three Survivors in a specially-designed Saddle!"

Here's a rundown of what else is new in the Xbox One version of ARK Survival Evolved:

• SWAT-style Assault Armor
• Greenhouse components
• Electric Prod
• Deep-Sea Loot Crates
• Craftable Beer Kegs with "hangover" and status boosting effects
• Bug fixes, including a fix for memory leak and an estimated 15 percent performance boost
• Support for up to eight survivors on non-dedicated servers and 33 percent larger tether distance

ARK: Survival Evolved is still in early access right now and won't receive a proper release until June 2016. PlayStation 4 will be brought to the party when the game officially launches on PC and Xbox One.
