'Carmageddon: Max Damage' Headed To PS4, Xbox One: Check Out The Announcement Trailer [Video]

Stainless Games announced the release of Carmageddon: Max Damage to PS4 and Xbox One consoles in mid 2016.

The release will be the first ever debut of the title on the above-mentioned consoles. The first appearance of Carmageddon 64 was way back in 1999 for the Nintendo 64.

Known for its over-the-top violence, the vehicle combat game will feature more than 30 cars, 10 environments and moving targets that include pedestrians, scooters, cyclists, cheerleaders, bears and even aliens.

"Moving targets of all ages, shapes and species make Carmageddon an equal opportunities pedestrian slaughterfest," states the game's official site. "Enjoy granny mangling, nun chucking, beach babe bouncing...Plus peds in wheelchairs, on mobility scooters and bicycles... Bears, penguins, aliens and much much more!"

It seemed like the latest release of the game will carry on with the graphically violent gameplay that it has been known for since the original release. The game, which took its inspiration from the cult movie Death Race 2000, has been censored or even banned in several countries because of its graphically violent content.

Players need to play "violently" in order to move through the game's various levels. These include either earning first place after competing in the race, destroying the vehicles of the competition or "murdering" the pedestrians with a hit-and-run.

The game also claims to feature environments that are either designed to satiate one's killing pleasure or to have some fun by smashing the vehicle into anything that gets in the way for the purpose of killing one's self.

"Create carnage in a wide range of large open world environments and smaller battle arenas, with plenty of fun stuff to smash into, smash up, snap off and sling around. Explore city streets and country trails, arid deserts and icy wastelands all packed with juicy meatbags for your killing pleasure."

Carmageddon: Max Damage also features three game modes that include the Career mode, which has six different event types; Freeplay, which players should be able to unlock in order to do whatever they like; and Multiplayer which allows players to challenge the masses.

Other details to expect in the game include 90 entertaining PowerUps, various Carmageddon events and a deranged driver to match each of the 30 metal mangling cars.

Carmageddon: Max Damage is also launching on the PC. The game's PC version will be free for players who have purchased Carmageddon: Reincarnation on Steam or those who have supported the game's Kickstarter return.
