XCOM is known for being brutally difficult and more than a little stressful. If you aren't precise, cautious and more than a little lucky, your soldiers will die by the dozens, leaving no future for a humanity squashed under alien rule.

Like we said, it's all pretty stressful knowing that one shot may be the difference between life and death for your team. However, do you know who is the number one enemy of stress? Tree-painter extraordinaire Bob Ross, that's who.

That's what is so spectacular about this Bob Ross voice pack mod for XCOM 2. Instead of the usual grim and serious voiceovers, it replaces them with Ross's calm and collected voice, making for what feels like an entirely different game.

It might not seem like much, but it has a huge effect on morale. Blasting aliens has never been so relaxing as it is with Ross at your side.

"We don't make mistakes, we have happy accidents," Ross says during one portion of the video below. Considering how often things go terribly, terribly wrong in XCOM, these words of comfort mean everything.

Other Ross voice samples you may hear while playing? When the aliens locate your team and finally start coming out of the woodwork, Ross calmly states, "Here they come." Or you may hear him say, "Now comes the fun," before proceeding to blast an alien to bits.

It is a pleasure only possible thanks to modders and the power of PC gaming. This isn't creator tdc733's first mod, either. They've also created voiceover packs for Darth Vader and Arnold Schwarzenegger, but none of them compare with the sheer brilliance of hearing about "happy little clouds" while fighting an uphill battle against alien overlords.

You can download the mod for yourself here. You can even create (or import) a Bob Ross lookalike character to go hand-in-hand with the voiceovers.

Ross is now a permanent part of Twitch's programming, after a successful marathon stream of the painter's show, The Joy of Painting, brought in huge numbers of viewers looking to celebrate Ross's birthday last year.
