So far, Disney has yet to announce the release date of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on DVD or Blu-ray, but those who prefer to buy all their movies digitally might not have to wait long to get their hands on the latest entry in the Star Wars film saga.

According to a recently-updated entry on Bluray.com (via TheForce.net), Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be coming to iTunes on March 15. This has yet to be confirmed by Disney, however, so take the release date with a grain of salt for now.

If the release date is true, it will almost certainly release ahead of the physical version of the film. This has been a running trend in recent years, as movie studios look to create incentive for customers to buy digital over physical.

As for when the Blu-ray may release? Amazon leaked an April 5, 2016 release date last month, but since then, has removed the date from the preorder page for the product. No doubt, Disney is looking toward the release of the film for home audiences to be big, so it will be sure to make a big announcement of it when the time is right.

Chewbacca actor Peter Mayhew has been tweeting images of his original Star Wars script over the past several days, saying he will continue to do so as he leads up to a big announcement. Might the news be the release date for The Force Awakens' Blu-ray? It doesn't seem likely, but we'll have to keep watching Mayhew's Twitter account to see what exactly the actor will reveal.

In other Star Wars news, new details about the Star Wars Land expansions to Disneyland and Walt Disney World have been revealed, which are set to include a virtual reality ride aboard the Millennium Falcon. You can read more about that here. If you simply can't wait to relive The Force Awakens, the arcade game Star Wars Battle Pod will soon be getting a new level based on one of the new film's now-iconic X-Wing battles.
