Earlier this month, Bethesda promised that a major makeover is coming to Fallout 4's Survival mode. Currently, the mode only increases the health and damage output of enemies, while slowing down the heal time for players.

According to the report, the developer is working to add requirements for food and sleep, along with new dangers, into Survival mode.

The details of the revamped Survival mode for Fallout 4 have leaked, with the information said to be extracted from the latest update of the game.

The leaked changes have been confirmed by Bethesda itself.

"Survival upends many of the rules of life in the Commonwealth for maximum challenge," reads the Reddit post. It also noted that to enable Survival mode, simply press Pause and choose the Survival difficulty under the Gameplay option from the Settings menu.

Here are what gamers can expect from the upcoming new Survival mode:

Saving

Quick saves and manual saves will be disabled. To save, gamers will have to look for a bed and sleep on it for at least one hour.

Combat

Gamers will be able to deal more damage, but they will also be suffering from more damage.

Fast Travel

Gamers will no longer be able to use Fast Travel, so it is a must to physically travel to locations that they want to go to.

Weighted Ammo

The bullets and shells that players carry now have a certain weight, depending on their caliber. Heavier ammo such as rockets will drag players down.

Compass

Enemies will no longer be showing up on the compass, while the distance at which locations of interest will be spotted has been drastically shortened.

Adrenaline

Switching to Survival mode automatically gives players the Adrenaline perk, which gives players a bonus to their damage output. Increasing the rank of this perk requires players to kill - the higher the rank, the higher the bonus.

However, if a player sleeps for more than an hour, the Adrenaline rank will decrease.

Wellness

Gamers are required to remain rested, fed and hydrated in Survival mode. Going without sleep, food or water for long periods of time will hurt the gamer's Special stats, while increasing Fatigue and the risk of sickness.

Fatigue

Fatigue works similarly to radiation, but instead affects the player's Action Points rather than the Hit Points. The more Fatigue a player has, the less AP for actions.

Sickness

Gamers will be exposed to possible illnesses in Survival mode for doing questionable actions such as eating raw meat and drinking unpurified water. When a gamer gets sick, a message will appear and the details of the illness can be accessed through the Pip-Boy.

Antibiotics

To cure sickness, gamers can craft Antibiotics at Chem Stations or buy them from doctors.

Bed Types

The different types of beds in Survival mode will determine how much sleep a player gets. For example, sleeping in a sleeping bag will allow gamers to save their game, but it will not provide the benefits of getting a complete rest from sleeping on an actual bed.

Crippled Limbs

Players that have limbs crippled will not have their limbs auto-heal after combat situations. The limbs will remain crippled until they are healed by using a Stimpak.

Carry Weight

Players that exceed their carry weight will reduce their Agility and Endurance, while also causing damage to their legs and their health.

Companions

If a companion is downed in Survival mode, they will not automatically stand back up while in combat. They will also be returning home if they are abandoned by the player without being healed.

Enemy And Loot Repopulation

Enemies and loot in locations that have been cleared will repopulate at a slower rate.
