Q Motion, Fossil’s most recent fitness band, not only sports the ability to track users’ activity but their sleep as well – making it the very first Fossil fitness device to feature this functionality.

This $95 fitness tracker likewise bears similarities to Misfit’s latest wearable device, the Ray. This means that Q Motion is also aimed at fashion enthusiasts.

The Fossil wearable joins a multitude of wearables from the watch and accessories company, such as the Q activity trackers, Q Founders Android Wear and more.

In addition to the ability to track sleep and steps, the Q Motion also vibrates for notifications.

It also includes a nifty functionality that the company calls smart tap. With smart tap, this fitness band has the capacity of carrying out one-tap smart button functions. For instance, with a quick tap, users are able to change music tracks on their smartphones. Through this feature, the Q Motion also serves as a selfie remote for the phone’s snapper.

What makes it great is that its battery lasts for six months, as it comes fitted with a coin cell battery. On top of that, the wearable is water-resistant up to 50 meters (164 feet).

The Q Motion is poised to be showcased at SXSW this year, which is slated to be held in the coming week. The Fossil wearable will hit the market sometime this summer, according to a report from Ars Technica.

What's more, Fossil's Q Motion touts the ability to filter notifications that users will receive on the device through the companion Android and iOS app installed on their smartphones.

Last year, Fossil bought the wearable and connected tech firm Misfit.

Misfit introduced its stylish Ray fitness and sleep tracker, which is built as a fashion accessory. The wearable was unveiled at the CES 2016.

In addition to being worn as an activity tracker during workouts, users can wear it from a chain as a necklace as well.

Much like the Q Motion, it also has a vibration motor that provides feedback, call and text notifications. Furthermore, it can act as a silent alarm.

The Misfit Ray lasts up to six months, just like the Q Motion.
