Good news, Xbox One users! Thanks to the Microsoft's backward compatibility feature, more and more games originally made for the earlier Xbox 360 can now be played on Xbox One.

It has only been a few days since the compatible versions of Alan Wake, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and PAC-MAN have been released. The latest update now includes the ever-popular Assassin's Creed, joined by Dark Void and GRID 2.

With hundreds of Xbox 360 games already made compatible, Microsoft promises more to come in the next several months.

The rapidly advancing world of gaming nowadays is constantly changing. With the multitude of brands offering various kinds of consoles and their corresponding compatibilities with each specific video game in addition to their seemingly endless expansions and sequels, it can be hard to keep up with what's hot and what's not.

Many gamers might be apprehensive when it comes to new products, be it an upgrade of an existing product or a completely unprecedented one. This is especially true for gaming consoles that are significantly more expensive and long-term compared to individual games.

"At Xbox, we believe gamers should be able to play the games they want, with the people they want, on the devices they want," says Microsoft's Xbox division head Phil Spencer, during the Xbox spring showcase event held in San Francisco last week.

With the release of Xbox One back in November 2013, hardcore Xbox 360 fans needed assurance that they could still carry on playing their much-loved 360 games. The backward compatibility feature that is exclusively Xbox One is Microsoft's perfect answer to this, with a regularly updating catalog of added games, completely free of additional charge. Now 360 fans need not worry about letting go of their favorite games with the latest Xbox.

Also due to this innovative feature, Xbox One users who do not own an Xbox 360 can now play 360 games without an actual Xbox 360. Just pop in the disc or your digital copy of the game and play it on your Xbox One like it's the 360!

The complete list of games included in the Xbox One Backward Compatibility as of Monday (March 21, 2016) is available here.
